INSTITUTIONAL FRAME EXIT SIGN -- SINGLE FACE
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Infinity II Series Institutional Exits are
designed for low level applications. This exit is
also suitable for master/remote applications where
a low level sign is powered by a master sign located
over the exit door. A polycarbonate face plate is
included for increased protection against accidental
or intentional abuse.
ILLUMINATION
Illumination of the stencil face is accomplished
with long-lasting, high output Light Emitting Diodes
(LEDs).
HOUSING
Beveled edge frame is constructed of extruded
aluminum and measures 1/4in.
Frame is available in black or white, stencil face is
available in brushed aluminum, black, or white and
includes a polycarbonate vandal resistant lens.
NFPA -type chevrons are field selectable.
20 gauge steel backbox contains electronics for
emergency operation version.
MASTER/REMOTE APPLICATION
This exit is suitable as a remote exit where a low
level exit is powered by an exit over the door. To
order master/remote for low level applications, contact
us directly. No recessed backbox is required
for master/remote application, or AC only versions
with no options.
ELECTRONICS
AC ONLY
120/277 VAC dual voltage input with surge protection
is standard.
SELF-POWERED
120/277 VAC dual voltage input with surge protected,
solid -state charging circuitry provides for a
reliable charging system. The charging system is
furnished with low voltage disconnect, AC lockout,
brownout protection, AC indicator lamp and test
switch.
The low voltage disconnect (LVD) feature will
disconnect the battery prior to an unacceptable deep
discharge, but not before the required 90 minute
emergency operation.
The AC lockout feature prevents battery drain prior
to
the initial energizing of utility power, and allows
the
installer to complete all wiring and electrical
connections without energizing the emergency
circuit.
The brownout protection circuitry will automatically
switch the unit into the emergency mode if the
utility
voltage sags below 20% of nominal.
Battery charging circuitry is entirely solid-state,
and
utilizes a constant current charger. Battery recharge
time after full discharge is less than the required
UL
924 standard.
Line sensitive electronics cause an instantaneous
transfer to battery power if utility power is lost,
or a
brownout condition is detected. When line voltage is
present and stabilized, the transfer circuitry
switches
back to normal operation and begins recharging the
battery. The transfer circuitry can be tested via a
momentary test switch located on the housing.
BATTERY
A maintenance free, sealed nickel cadmium battery is
standard. Construction is of the sintered plate
design and the battery assembly is equipped with a
quick connect plug assembly for easy installation.
Standard sustained emergency operation is for 90
minutes with the LED illumination source providing
full light output.
The suggested operating temperature range of 20°F
(-7°C) to 95°F (35°C) should provide a service life
of
10 years.
