What Are Signs Exit

Signs exit is a term commonly searched when looking for emergency exit signs.  Emergency exit signs are safety lighting fixtures that are mandated by international, federal, and state building codes.  Emergency exit signs are required to be placed above all doors and along corridors that lead to an outdoor exit.  The Exit Store manufactures and provides more than 100 models of emergency exit signs, each designed with its own application in mind.  All of the emergency exit signs that we offer are UL 924 Listed and approved for use in the Unites States and Canada.  We offer a five-year warranty against any manufacturing defect.

The EXIT series thermoplastic emergency exit sign is the most popular exit sign that we offer.  Beginning at less than $20 a sign, the EXIT series features ultra energy efficient LED light sources in colors of red or green.  The thermoplastic housing is durable, flame retardant, and offered in white or black.  EXIT series is a applicable for most applications, it comes with a single backplate and two faceplates so it can be configured for double and single-sided applications.  The mounting bracket that this model comes with can attach to the side or top of the sign for flag or ceiling mounting.  Back mount applications do not require a mounting bracket, simply use the backplate perform a surface installation.  EXIT series operates using 120/277v AC electrical power and comes with a battery backup system so the sign will remain illuminated even after power is lost during an emergency.

If electricity is not available at the location you wish to install an emergency exit sign, take a look at the two types of non-electrical exit signs that The Exit Store offers.  Self-luminous tritium powered exit signs use a glowing type of hydrogen gas that glows on its own for 10 to 20 years, depending on the model purchased.  Self-luminous exit signs can be placed outdoors and indoors, including in harsh environments.  They come with a white or black frame and a face color choice of red, green or black.

Photoluminescent exit signs are similar to self-luminous models, as they do not require electricity to operate.  They are different though, because they use glow-in-the-dark technology to illuminate the word EXIT.  These signs are for indoor use and can last longer than 25 years.  A small amount of light is required to charge the sign, which can be satisfied by normal fluorescent or incandescent light.  Photoluminescent exit signs are also offered in various face and frame color combinations.  All non-electrical exit signs cane be ordered in a single or double-faced model.
