Our revolutionary new photoluminescent aluminum stairwell system provides the needed extra safety by being highly visible in darkness. During an emergency evacuation building occupants are instructed to head towards the stairwell systems to exit to safety. If the emergency has resulted in a loss of power or darkness, quickly traversing through these stairwells becomes a huge risk of personal injury and building owner liability. With increased traffic or urgency, the risks of danger dramatically rise. Our non-electric routing systems are designed to illuminate emergency exit routes in the event of total power loss within a building or structure. The components are powered by high performance photoluminescent guidance strips embedded into our stair treading, aisle markers and hand rails. The strips are charged by absorbing the ambient lighting within the stairwell during normal lighting conditions and discharging the light in darkness. The system remains charging during normal conditions, available to instantly glow when the normal lighting system goes out. There is no dependency on inverters, batteries, or generators. Disaster evalutation stuides have shown that electrical backup systems fail regularly in emergencies due to poor maintenance and testing, insufficient design, or inadequate implementation. Since our system charges from light, it is free from the woes of electricty. It is easy to install this system during new construction or to retro-fit your existing stairs. They are UV stable allowing for indoor or outdoor installation. There are many product size combinations available.
