This unit's specifications originated from a request by a National Sports Team seeking a wire guard that could withstand professional sports level abuse. The wire is thick and cross hatched. The wire guard features a special design to where you can interconnect the wire guards for extended length runs and then cap off the ends using our OPTIONAL gating system to provide complete uniform protection from all angles. This model is Black Powder Coated. The unit can be ordered with the pair of gates, however, please note that the gates are zinc plated and not powder coated. Do not confuse this wire guard with our other lighter duty wire guard WG-1, as this wire guard is best of breed at sustaining repeated high-impact turbulent professional sports level of abuse. Perfect for school, sports centers, or gymnasiums. The wire guard body has OPTIONAL gates that interlock using a hinged-hook design for locking the top portion of the gate to the body along with a looping foot mount for screwing the gate into the wall. The body of the wire guard is secured using a two rail system, between which you insert screws into the wall. This allows you to select the most logical insertion point for securing the guard. For those not familiar with 3 guage wire, it is nearly the equivalent thickness of 1/4th of an inch.
