The first aspect to consider is the time frame as you will need to have new signs ready to be put in place before taking down the old signs down. When purchasing new signs, make it clear that you are recycling older signs as there are costs associated with recycling which are lowered if the recycling documentation and the new purchase are prepared at the same time. Ask for the recycled sign package preparation sheet which details how to label and secure the boxes for transit as well as which carriers to use.
Install your new signs. Log the serial numbers of your old signs, including the date of manufacturing and manufacturer.
